Breast Augmentation Recovery

Breast Augmentation Salt Lake City, UTIf getting a breast augmentation is on your wishlist in 2018, Dr. York Yates has got you covered. During your initial consultation with Dr. York Yates, you will go over all of your breast implant options including the shape, size, texture, and overall look that you want from your augmentation. Additionally, you will also discuss what you can expect from your recovery.

As one of the most important parts of any surgery— especially a breast augmentation— recovery is what will get you to the finish line the fastest.

The First 24 Hours

The first 24-hours after your breast augmentation may be the most uncomfortable because it’s when your anesthesia wears off. During this time, you can manage the pain with either prescription painkillers or over-the-counter ones. Additionally, during the first 24 hours patients start to experience pressure and soreness around their breasts which is a normal part of the recovery.

After 24-Hours

Dr Yates uses rapid recovery methods during surgery which can help significantly with the pain and recovery process. After surgery you will be placed in a surgical bra for support and work on arm range of motion activities to help with muscle spasm and pain.   You should expect to be off narcotic pain medications by the second day. You should expect to be back to desk work by 1 week and the gym by 6 weeks.
